DIY Paper Flower

I was searching for online tutorial on how to make paper flowers since the ones available in the LSS are quite expensive for a one LO use.  I chanced upon one tutorial which was quite easy to follow.  I made some using a double sided cs.

I put stickles and pearls.  For some closer look:

My Take on Creative Scrappers Sketch # 127

I saw a perfect paper for Creative Scrappers Sketch no. 127 from among my stash.  I just added some flowers, rub-ons, Fancy Pants felt, and stickles for some drama.  Other than those, I felt the paper and the picture provided for all the adornments I needed to come up with this entry.

The Color Room Palette # 29

I've been loving the inspiration which The Color Room provides.  It introduces me to color combinations which I never thought would blend well together.  This is the Palette # 29:

And here is my take:

I used some misting here in this LO.  I painted on and glittered the diecut bird from Sizzix by Tim Holtz.  I sprayed on some glimmermist to the alphas to match the color requirement.  The flowers are from Prima and the doilies are from Gourdo's.

And When I was Up for It . . .

. . . an unfortunate event happened. For the past years that I have been engaged in the craft, very seldom do I join challenges for lack of confidence. After brazing enough courage, I finally decided to join one sponsored by The Color Room. After taking pictures of my LO, alas, I couldnt find my camera cable(?). Being an untechy person that I am, the most treasured possessions I have, as an accessory to my art, are my hubby's Nikon camera pre-set for my competence (or lack of it) and the cable where I could transfer pictures to the computer without much intellectual exercise. Lo and behold, the cable is missing and no amount of effort to locate it proved successful. I heard of a card reader that reads the memory card from my camera. Got to find one of those. In the meantime, my iphone afforded me some remedy, but of course, the product is not of competitive quality. I just have to make do of it now for this post.

Here is the Color Palette # 28 from The Color Room

And here is my take:

I didnt realize the colors would go well together.

LOs of Aly's Birthday

After some lull I finally went back again to scrapping.  I guess there is some truth to the cliche "once a scrapbooker, always a scrapbooker".  In my attempt to scrap all the pictures taken in an occasion thinking an album will not be complete without them (which may well pass as a disorder called OC), I always end up with too many pictures in a LO.  I know that an outstanding LO depends on the strength of a picture, I should then learn to choose only pictures that depict the moment's moments.  Well for this album, the OC in me prevailed.  Alas, LOs with lots and lots of pictures.
For this album, I attempted to use my stash generously for every LO.  I need to use up first before I replenish, or so I wish.

DIY Invitation

It has been a long time since I visited this site.  I was so busy with my new RTW business venture.  However, as necessitated, I had to force my mojos to come up with an invitation for my son's 1st safari jungle themed bday on July 25, 2010.  Since I could not entrust somebody to craft my son's invitation, I boasted upon myself that I could do it on my own.  I used DCWV Safari Jungle cardstock.  For most of the diecuts, I used my Slice and its Think Pink, Animal Cracker and the Just Chillin cards.  I used a monkey stamp and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The pop-up tree was from Sizzix.  We had the pictures of my son taken by Blow-up Babies at Serendra.  I cut it to complete my attempt to come up with a 3d invitation.  Nobody can appreciate it except for myself. . . so I will give myself a score of 10 for the effort. :)
