Mini album as Christmas gifts

It's Christmas once again and time to squeeze my brain out for one of a kind gift ideas. The real challenge is to execute the idea within the limited time available with the hustle and bustle of the Season. With few pictures of my daughter's friends which I accumulated over months of their activities, I came up with a mini album highlighting their friendship. Hope they would treasure . . . both the mini album and the friendship :)

Mini Album for My Mini Joachim

Like any scrapper mom who treats her baby's every ayys and oohs as a milestone, I have accumulated already thousands of pictures in a matter of 3 months. I needed to organize them in an album where I can bring them wherever I go. Thanks to Sharon Chua for lending me her scallop rectangle bigz xl die which is perfect for doing mini albums.

I used here a cut out tag using Slice design card Basic 3. The hippo felt is from Cosmo Jack's World.
I used Sassfras Jungle Pals to stamp the elephant with blue ink, then embossed with clear embossing powder. I just love to use animals with whatever project I do now. :)

Again, slice design cards were used to cut out small circles for the tree and bear.

Mini fence is a Martha Stewart border punch. The tree is courtesy of Bessie's tree sizzix die.
Journalling: I never wanted to have a baby boy because I knew I didn't have the patience for the works. . . and then you came. . I would never exchange you for the most adorable baby girl there is.

The arrow, pacifier, handprints and moon were cut using Slice design cards.

New Toy

After all the great reviews about MM's Slice, I didn't waste time to get one. After the long wait, I finally got my pink Slice from Lasting Impressions. I am so impressed with its versatility as it can cut alphas and a lot more from an inch to 4, adopting well to whatever size your project is. You dont have to use individual die to make your title. One design card contains complete alphas and characters. Also, it's so user friendly, fit for those who hit electronics without reading the manual of usage (guilty as charged). Next target: buy all the design cards.

I conservatively tried the design cards that are part of the package and this is what I have initially accomplished.

More LOs

Now that I am back to scrapping again, no one could stop me to do more LOs, blog worthy or not. I just can't leave thousands of pictures unscrapped. Thanks to the inspiration of our local and seasoned scrappers (their names were intentionally withheld for fear of inadvertently missing out one) for the inspiration. Hopefully, in time, after a thousand LOs, I will be able to have my own distinct style.

I'm back . . . but not quite

I am so excited that my addiction to scrapbooking is back, otherwise, my scrap materials will just be a junkie . I have to say, though, that I need to update my stash. To give satisfaction to my remission, I scrapped the first available pictures. I have done a few LOs after so much effort because I seemed to have forgotten the basics. Hopefully, soon I will learn the art of doing it again.

The Reason for Abandoning and Embracing Back the Craft

Pregnancy women have their own distinct pet peeves during the first few months of pregnancy. They vary from food to perfume which particulary affect their senses of taste and smell. I would never imagined that mine would be as weird as hating something which I was so insanely crazy about. Yes, during my entire pregnancy I loathed scrapping. I didn't even get myself to look at my scrapbook materials. Was it because I was carrying a boy, thus, my girly artistic sense escaped me for awhile?  But when he came out, with a face I believe not only his own Mom would love, my scrapbooking mojos came rushing back.  How else would I capture such joy but to preserve them in a scrapbook with memories to last even beyond my lifetime.
